Overview map of Prospect Park, a 585-acre city park located in the heart of Brooklyn. Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead and Calvert Vaux, the same designers of Central Park. Many consider Prospect Park the sister park of Manhattan's Central Park. The urban park features 90-acre Long Meadow, 60-acre Lake, and Brooklyn’s only forest. Also in Prospect Park are the nation’s first urban Audubon Center, the Prospect Park Zoo, and the Celebrate Brooklyn! Performing Arts Festival. The park is heavily used for many activities such as: walking, running, picnics, biking, tennis, baseball, soccer, and ice skating at Wollman Rink.
